About Alex
My Story

Alex is an ocean and wildlife photographer, filmmaker, and environmental advocate whose work has been at the forefront of campaigns to protect some of the planet's most critical marine and terrestrial ecosystems. Specializing in underwater cinematography, Alex has captured the rich biodiversity of the Indonesian archipelago and Western Australia.

A key contributor to Greenpeace’s "Whales Not Woodside" campaign he has been heavily involved in protecting Scott Reef in the Indian Ocean, spending extensive time at the atolls. His efforts there led to the documentation of previously undocumented animals in the region. As the videographer onboard Greenpeace’s Rainbow Warrior, Alex's work has been featured in numerous documentaries, news stories, and publications. Alex is also deeply engaged in protecting the Kimberley region, campaigning to save the Fitzroy River and prevent fracking in this vital area.
As a Dive Master, USCG Master Captain, and seasoned expedition leader, Alex has worked across diverse environments—from the rainforests of Sumatra to the depths of the Southern Ocean. He collaborates with leading whale scientists and has contributed significantly to international cetacean research initiatives, including the Southern Hemisphere blue whale catalog and the Timor Leste national cetacean catalog. His work in these projects has helped advance the understanding of cetacean migration patterns and population dynamics in critical marine habitats.

His work is widely recognized, appearing in world-class photo competitions, acclaimed films, and top-tier publication. In 2022, he was shortlisted as Australian Geographic Wildlife Photographer of the Year.

Beyond the ocean, Alex has documented endangered species in remote rainforests and exposed wildlife trafficking across Asia. Through his visual storytelling, he continues to drive awareness and action for global conservation efforts.
